D’Andre Swift Injury Update: What Fantasy Owners Need to Know About Bears RB Status Ahead of Week 9

The Chicago Bears are having a strong season, winning four of their first seven games, and running back D’Andre Swift has been a big part of that success. Appearing in all seven games, he has 100 carries for 464 yards and four TDs. However, he has dealt with injury issues for the past two weeks and is on the injury report again this week. Here is everything you need to know about the star RB’s status ahead of Week 9.

    What Happened to D’Andre Swift?

D’Andre Swift has been dealing with a groin issue for the past several weeks. He appeared on the injury report in each of the past two weeks, but played through the injury and appeared in both games. However, his status against Cincinnati on Sunday is less clear. He was a DNP at practice on both Wednesday and Thursday. As a result, there is much more concern that he will not play on the weekend.

Is D’Andre Swift Playing Week 9?

There has not been an official announcement on whether Swift will play this weekend. However, he is listed as questionable for the matchup. His status at practice on Friday will go a long way in determining whether he will be available on the weekend. If he participates, there is a good chance he will play through his injury again.

    D’Andre Swift Fantasy Outlook

When available, D’Andre Swift is a top running back in fantasy football. According to Fantasy Pros,  he is the No. 11-ranked RB in fantasy football this season. Despite playing through a groin injury the past two weeks, he has still been a strong performer. He even put up his best performance of the season two games ago against New Orleans with 19 carries for 124 yards and a TD.

As a result, the fantasy outlook for Swift this season is still good. He has started to perform even better in recent weeks, rushing for over 100 yards in two of the past three games. As long as his injury is not severe enough to keep him out long term, Swift should be kept on your roster, and if he’s available on Sunday, he should be in your starting lineup.
