Dan Campbell has built the Detroit Lions into one of the toughest, most energetic teams in the NFL, and Week 13 brings one of the most meaningful games of their season. The Lions host the Green Bay Packers on Thanksgiving, a stage that has always mattered in Detroit.
Fans are fired up, the stadium is packed, and everything around the organization is buzzing with anticipation. Adding to the excitement, Campbell’s wife, Holly Campbell, shared a photo on her Instagram story just hours before kickoff.
She was standing inside Ford Field in full view of the bright blue seats and the field below, showing support in unmistakable fashion. Holly wore a light-blue Lions sweater with bold lettering across the chest, paired with high-waisted black pants.
“Happy Thanksgiving!!! FTP,” Holly wrote on her Instagram story.

This Thanksgiving matchup carries weight for more than tradition. Detroit lost to the Packers in Week 1, and Campbell made it clear that the team has been waiting for this rematch. He talked earlier in the week about the importance of facing a division rival for the second time.
Fans are treating the game as more than a holiday tradition. It has become a statement opportunity, and Campbell’s tone set that expectation as soon as the week began.
“They’re playing good football. They’re winning, finding ways to win,” Campbell said. “Really good defense, a potent offense. Coach Matt LaFleur has done a good job. They’ve been playing at a high level, and they’ve got a good roster.”
Campbell isn’t taking the opponent lightly or getting swayed by the festive theme of the matchup. His focus is on securing a win, and there are specific players that he believes the Lions need to watch out for if they want to win.
Dan Campbell Warned His Team About Micah Parsons
In the days leading up to the game, Campbell also delivered one of his strongest evaluations of an opposing player this season. He singled out Micah Parsons as the central threat Detroit must contain. Campbell described him as a rare combination of speed, power, and relentlessness.
During an ‘Opponent Preview‘ segment on the Detroit Lions YouTube channel, he emphasized Parsons’ explosive first step and his ability to overpower tight ends, tackles, and guards in the same sequence.
Campbell broke down film of Parsons ripping through multiple Pittsburgh Steelers blockers on a single play, showing how he shrugged off a tight end, defeated a tackle, absorbed a sliding guard, and still managed to bring down the quarterback.
“We know he’s a dynamic player, he’s a dynamic rusher. This guy plays hard, he’s got a quick first step, he’s powerful, he’s quick,” Campbell said.
For Campbell to spotlight an opponent in such detailed, forceful terms speaks volumes. Detroit’s offensive line has been strong this season, but Campbell made sure they understood the magnitude of the challenge ahead.
