Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is arguably the most active owner in the NFL. He is more involved in the team’s football operations than possibly any other owner in the league. This gets him a lot of media attention, as well as plenty of criticism. He is often bold in the moves he tries to make.
This season, the Dallas Cowboys have been an offensive force with quarterback Dak Prescott leading the way. However, after letting star Micah Parsons go in a trade to the Green Bay Packers in the offseason, the Cowboys have struggled immensely on defense this season. As a result, it was not surprising to hear that the Cowboys tried to make a splash on a defensive star ahead of the trade deadline.
On Sunday morning, insider Ari Meirov reported that Jerry Jones and the Cowboys made trade calls on Las Vegas Raiders DE Maxx Crosby and Cincinnati Bengals DE Trey Hendrickson. However, they were reportedly rejected by both teams.
“The Cowboys made trade calls to the Raiders on Maxx Crosby and the Bengals on Trey Henrickson, but were rebuffed by both teams, per Jay Glazer. Dallas is in the market for defense.”

The Dallas Cowboys Have One of the Worst Defenses in the NFL
The Dallas Cowboys have struggled with consistency this season, only achieving a 3-3-1 record in their first seven games. Offense has not been an issue for the team as it is the No. 1-ranked team in yards per game with 390.6. However, defense has been a massive problem for the Cowboys.
The Cowboys shocked the world by trading one of the best defensive players in the league, Micah Parsons, to the Green Bay Packers in the offseason. It has turned out to be a poor decision as the Cowboys are last in the NFL with 401.6 yards allowed per game.
So, for as good as the team is on offense, it is as bad on defense. If the Cowboys want to make defensive additions, they will need to act fast. The Nov. 4 trade deadline is quickly approaching.
