Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is aware of how it feels when a close member dies by suicide. The Cowboys quarterback lost his older brother, Jace, to suicide in April 2020. Since then, the quarterback has been heavily active in promoting suicide awareness campaigns, including his own “Ask 4 Help” campaign with the goal of increasing awareness of suicide prevention.
The Cowboys family is going through something similar as they lost their defensive end Marshawn Kneeland to apparent suicide on Thursday. After a police pursuit due to traffic violation ended unsuccessfully, Kneeland was found dead near Dallas Parkway in Frisco, Texas.

“Dak Prescott has always been one of the strongest voices for mental health in the NFL. I can’t imagine what he or that locker room is feeling right now. Check on your people. Tell them you love them. Life is fragile. Once again, RIP Marshawn Kneeland ❤️ You were loved. Always,” another fan wrote.
“With the heartbreaking news coming out today, I can assure you that Brian Schottenheimer and Dak Prescott are the exact guys that these guys need in the room with them as they grieve the loss of their brother. RIP Marshawn🙏🏼” one fan noted.
“Cowboys players Dak Prescott and Solomon Thomas both have prominent foundations that emphasize suicide prevention and awareness. Hope both can be useful as #Cowboys grieve the loss of teammate Marshawn Kneeland, who was just 24,” one fan added.

How Did Dak Prescott’s “Ask 4 Help” Campaign Begin?
Dak Prescott launched the “Ask 4 Help” campaign in September 2021 (Suicide Prevention Month). To promote this campaign, the quarterback started wearing wrist tape with “Ask 4 Help” written on it.
His Faith Fight Finish Foundation launched apparel featuring the messaging “Ask for Help” and “Faith. Fight. Finish.” The proceeds were used to support mental-health programs and suicide-prevention efforts.
Having lost his brother to suicide five years ago, Dak Prescott has openly talked about mental health problems and depression.
