The Green Bay Packers are on the hunt for a playoff spot and a division title, but an injury to Christian Watson may put a wrench in those plans. The star wide receiver has been listed as questionable for their Week 16 game against the Chicago Bears, with both teams in a must-win situation to improve their seeds in the upcoming playoffs.
The Packers have been hit by the injury bug hard, especially the wide receiver room, as Christian Watson was originally the team’s WR11, but because of all the injuries, he has been the WR2 option every week since he made his season debut in Week 8. His absence could be a cause for concern for the already injury-plagued Packers.
What Happened to Christian Watson?
Watson suffered a chest and shoulder injury during Week 15, which saw him exit the game against the Denver Broncos early in the contest. He was soon sent to the hospital to see the extent of his injuries, and it turned out to be not as serious as many had expected.
Because the injury was not that serious, Christian Watson was deemed “questionable” for the Week 16 showdown against the Chicago Bears, which also needs a win to stay afloat in the playoff race.
Will Christian Watson Play This Week?
For now, it is still not certain whether or not Christian Watson will be playing during Week 16, even though his injuries are not that serious and the Packers are in a must-win situation. Playing could make the injury much worse, which means that the Packers have to address this carefully.
That being said, the Packers are actually pretty optimistic about Watson’s chances of playing on Sunday, with Watson himself also positive about being able to play against the Bears:
“I’ll probably just have something in my pads for game day just to be cautious,” he said. “Honestly, it’s feeling pretty good for everything considered, so I think it’ll be all right for the game.”
Should I start Christian Watson or Jaylen Waddle This Week?
For Week 16, Christian Watson will possibly play, though for those who also have Jaylen Waddle, the big question for Fantasy managers is who among them to start?
Waddle The two are looking similar, but in terms of touches, Waddle gets more with the Miami Dolphins, as opposed to Watson, who plays better in a rushing game. As for who among them to start this week, Watson should be the better choice, as he has more versatility.
