Christian McCaffrey Had a Historic 201-Yard Night
McCaffrey erupted in Week 7 of the 2025 season, piling up 201 scrimmage yards and two rushing touchdowns in a 20-10 win over the Atlanta Falcons. He carried the ball 24 times for 129 yards and added seven receptions for 72 yards.
This marked his highest yardage total since joining the San Francisco 49ers and signaled his full return to form after injury-marred seasons. The performance came at a key time for the 49ers, who have dealt with injuries to major contributors across the roster.
On the season as a whole, McCaffrey leads the NFL in touches and scrimmage yards among running backs, despite the 49ers facing numerous setbacks. He has logged more than 980 scrimmage yards through seven games and is one of the few backs in recent NFL history to approach 450+ rushing and 450+ receiving yards so early in a season.
While McCaffrey has been dominant, the workload raises questions about sustainability over the remaining weeks. Still, with performances like the 201-yard outburst, McCaffrey is laying the foundation for what could be one of his best seasons.
