The Dallas Cowboys have taken a big hit, as their superstar wide receiver, CeeDee Lamb, did not practice due to an injury that he sustained after that loss against the Chicago Bears during Week 3. The question now is, would Lamb be able to play for Week 5 and how it would affect Fantasy Football.
Dallas has been off to a rough start, and it was clear during that Week 4 tie against the Green Bay Packers that his services have been missed. However, as Week 5 approaches, can he now return to the field or will Dallas play it safe and continue to rest him?
What Happened to CeeDee Lamb?
During that Week 3 loss to Chicago, CeeDee Lamb injured his ankle and missed the game against Green Bay a week later. There is a two-to-four week timetable for his recovery and he already missed one week.
He was reportedly rehabilitating his injured knee on Wednesday, missing practice with the rest of the team. Reports indicated that he may be returning sooner than many have expected.
During that practice, he was no longer wearing the boot, though he may still be hurt as he was still rehabilitating his knee.
Is CeeDee Lamb Playing Week 5?
So, will CeeDee Lamb be able to play during Week 5 against the still winless New York Jets? The answer is probably not, as he is expected to go through another week of rehabilitation and reports are suggesting that Dallas may be taking a more cautious approach to the injury, given that Lamb is considered their franchise player.
Dallas Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer spoke on Lamb’s injury status, as well as fellow injured Cowboy Tyler Booker. It was reported that the staff are trying to “see how the week goes” for now, though a new official injury report came out and confirmed that the superstar wideout will not be playing against the Jets.
Lengthy injury report for the Cowboys. Six starters don’t practice and likely three out for sure (Lamb, Booker, Turpin). Two other starters limited. pic.twitter.com/KAiIQU48bF

CeeDee Lamb Fantasy Outlook
As for how his injury would affect Fantasy Football, it should be safe to sit him out for now, as the superstar wide receiver is expected to resume his dominance once he gets back on his feet. Jake Ferguson and Jalen Tolbert may be benefitting from his absence though, so expect their numbers to go up during Lamb’s absence.
