New York Giants rookie running back Cam Skattebo has been one of the most exciting players in the NFL this season.
The fourth-round draft pick out of Arizona State has lived up to his hype coming out of college, and he has one of the most unique style being a hard-nose, powered back that has had success running the ball this season.
Prior to Week 8’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles, Skattebo ranked tied for fifth in rushing touchdowns (5), tied for 13th in carries (98), and 19th in rushing yards (398.)
Unfortunately for Skattebo, he suffered a severe injury this week.
What Happened to Cam Skattebo?
Midway through the second quarter of Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles, Cam Skattebo turned around and tried to catch a pass from quarterback Jaxson Dart. He was taken to the ground and appeared to have suffered a serious injury.
As he was taken to the ground, his right foot/ankle bent and looked out of place. Skattebo had to be carted off the field and will not return back to the game.

As of right now, there is no word on the severity of Skattebo’s injury, but it wouldn’t be a surprise if he were to miss the rest of the season.
Tyrone Tracy, Devin Singletary to lead Giants’ backfield with Skattebo injured
First it was Tyrone Tracy, now it’s Cam Skattebo who’s hurt for the New York Giants.
Luckily, Tracy’s shoulder injury that he suffered early in the serious wasn’t too serious and they have him on the field. Prior to Sunday’s game, Tracy ranked third on the team inrushing yards and second for all running backs.
Now that Skattebo is likely done for the year, Tracy will have a bulk of the work with Devin Singletary being more involved. Don’t be surprised if Dart also uses his feet more to help the Giants’ rushing game.
