What Happened to Caleb Williams? Injury Scare Adds to Bears’ Growing Concerns in Week 15 vs. Browns

Going into halftime, the Chicago Bears were in control of the game with a 14-0 lead over the Cleveland Browns. The last thing they needed to see was their star quarterback, Caleb Williams, struggle to get off the field.

Williams, who had a good first half, going 12 of 18 for 190 yards and one touchdown against the visitors, was seen struggling to walk.

Williams was limping off the field. He was visibly in pain and bent down to grab his legs for a second. He immediately got up and limped his way off the field. A 10-second clip was enough to raise alarms within the Bears camp and fanbase.

When the game resumed in the second half, Williams came back, giving fans a huge sigh of relief. Losing their star quarterback might’ve created problems the Bears wouldn’t have been equipped to deal with.

This particular matchup was going to be physically taxing on players. With the temperature dropping to 12 degrees and strong winds making the environment colder, fans knew that the outing wouldn’t be devoid of some setbacks.

For now, the positive sign is that Williams is back on the field, and the Bears have done well enough to maintain their lead. In the third quarter, they are 21-3 ahead of the Browns, who have struggled on both ends.

It’s an important game to win for the Bears because this will put their win tally in double digits, making them only the third team, behind the Rams and the Seahawks, with 10 wins. The Browns, on the other hand, are fighting to restore the damage they’ve taken this season.

    Caleb Williams Made NFL History

Williams has had a good season so far. He has accumulated over 2900 yards with 19 touchdowns and has thrown six interceptions. While the numbers aren’t enough for him to compete with the MVP caliber players this season, Williams made history today against the Browns.

Williams’ TD to DJ Moore in the first half was his 1,000th career attempt. For someone who has been ridiculed for accuracy, Williams made history with that successful attempt.

“The FOX broadcast just noted that Caleb Williams has just 12 interceptions in his first 1,000 career passing attempts, which is the fewest in NFL history,” Jacob Infante reported.

Only 12 interceptions in 1000 passing attempts is an incredible feat. The 2022 Heisman Trophy winner is just getting started. If he continues to be just as accurate and effective for his team, Williams can write a new chapter in Bears history.
