Buffalo Bills Incentives: Nine Players That Can Lock In Extra Clauses During Eagles Matchup Ft. Dawson Knox

With only two games remaining, nine Buffalo Bills players stand a chance to add more to their salaries through performance incentives. The Bills are scheduled to play against the Philadelphia Eagles next and will wrap up their regular season with the game against the New York Jets.

NFL players generally have performance-based incentives in their contracts through which they can earn more by accomplishing these milestones. Let’s take a look at nine players who are in for a big payday.

Bills’ Dawson Knox & Others Stand To Earn More

Bills tight end Dawson Knox has three statistical milestones that he needs to achieve in the remaining two games of the season. Those are as follows:

    1. $100,000 for reaching 30 receptions (currently at 29)
    2. $100,000 for hitting 400 receiving yards (currently at 363)
    3. $100,000 for totaling 4 touchdowns (currently at 3)

If Knox reaches all these milestones, he stands to earn $300,000 more.

Five players on the defensive line stand a chance to earn more.

Ed Oliver needs three more sacks to reach a $250,000 bonus tied to six total sacks. DaQuan Jones needs one sack for $250,000 (4-sack threshold) and 2 sacks for $500,000 (5-sack threshold). Moreover, Matt Milano requires two sacks to unlock a $500,000 clause, while Michael Hoecht needs two sacks to secure $200,000.

Joey Bosa currently has five sacks. If he reaches six, he earns $250,000 and if he reaches eight, he earns $500,000.

Bills running back Ty Johnson needs two total touchdowns to earn $250,000. Cornerback Christian Benford is chasing two more interceptions for a $400,000 bonus.

Cornerback Tre’Davious White needs one interception for $250,000 and two INTs for another $250,000.

The Bills and the Eagles have both already confirmed their places in the playoffs, but there is still a lot to play for, not only players but also for the better seeding in the playoffs. Ahead of the Eagles matchup, on Friday, head coach Sean McDermott shared his viewpoint on the game.

“Keeping the main thing the main thing is the top priority. So that’s really where everything starts,” McDermott said. “The rest of it is how well one can multitask. And I’m the only one who needs to do that.

“Good challenge for us,” he added. “I don’t think we make one game bigger than another. It’s really about how well we play and how well we compete, and it’s something we’re looking forward to.”

It remains to be seen if all the above-mentioned players can get to their respective milestones and take home extra money.
