Week 8 has arrived and Fantasy Football managers have plenty to go by, especially with the quarterbacks. Bo Nix and the Denver Broncos are fresh off that crazy Week 8 win over the New York Giants in one of the biggest comebacks in NFL history, while Baker Mayfield is playing very well for the hobbled Tampa Bay Buccaneers despite also dealing with a knee/oblique injury.
The question now is, who should Fantasy managers pick up or start among these two excellent starting quarterbacks? Both of them have been playing well so far, but for Week 8, who should be the better pick?
Bo Nix Fantasy Outlook
During that comeback win over the Giants last Week, it was Bo Nix who led the team from being scoreless to an unbelievable victory in one improbable comeback. While he was relatively quiet in the first three quarters, the quarterback exploded in the fourth to lead his team to a 33-32 victory. The team scored 33 points in just that fourth quarter, and Nix was part of many of those points.
In that game alone, Nix had 279 passing yards on 27 completions and 50 attempts, leading to two touchdowns. He also showed that he could rush as he he had 48 rushing yards on five carries with two rushing touchdowns. It was indeed a monster game for Nix, with much of it happening during the fourth quarter.
Their next opponent will be the Dallas Cowboys, which boasts a very good defensive squad, but with momentum going with Nix, he may just have yet another great game.
Baker Mayfield Fantasy Outlook
It is no secret that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are a lot more beaten up than all the other teams out there, but they are still hanging on. Starting quarterback Baker Mayfield himself is also injured, but like the team, he will be pressing on and is confirmed to play on Sunday against the New Orleans Saints.
He has so far had 1,767 passing yards on 245 attempts and 157 completions, leading to 13 touchdowns, and has been very solid for the Bucs. he is expected to do well in their next game, especially as it is against the struggling New Orleans Saints.
Verdict
While Baker Mayfield is solid, he is playing hurt against the Saints, which may affect his game. For this week, Bo Nix is looking like the better choice, especially as he has all the momentum in the world coming into the matchup against the Cowboys.
