Buffalo Bills vs New York Jets Game Summary
James Cook started things off around the 7:29 mark in the first quarter with a 1-yard touchdown. This was soon followed with an extra point from kicker Matt Prater to give the Bills a 7-0 lead to start things off. Prater again scored for the Bills, this time with a field goal to push the Bills 10-0.
Prater was big again for the Bills with another field goal, this time in the second quarter. This was followed by a 44-yard rush from Cook and another extra point from Prater, giving the Bills a commanding 20-0 lead. However, the Jets would soon score with a field goal from Nick Folk.
The second half remained relatively close in comparison as the Bills slowed the game down preserving their 20-3 lead, adding a field goal to it with 9:04 on the clock as Matt Prater continued his perfect kicking record. The fourth quarter became lively again as Elijah Moore punched in another touchdown solidifying the 27-point lead with a four-yard run.
With Justin Fields now out with injury, 36-year-old vet Tyrod Taylor took over playcalling duties, throwing a five-yard pass to Jeremy Ruckert to cut the lead down to 20, however it was too little, too late for the Jets, as they faced their second defeat in two weeks. With Justin Fields’ status for Week 3 unclear, the Jets will face Tampa Bay next Sunday.
