Calls Mount From Fans To Bench Justin Fields And Tank For Arch Manning Amid Jets QB’s Disastrous Start vs Broncos

The New York Jets have emerged as the worst team in the NFL to start the year. They entered Week 6 as the only team that did not have a win yet. They then headed to London for a game against the Denver Broncos, and while they stayed competitive early, the coaching staff was not calling for quarterback Justin Fields to make passes.

As the game hit the two-minute warning in the first half, Justin Fields had completed just two of four passes for one yard. It was a poor start to the game for a QB who has already struggled to start this season.

This led to a huge number of fans on X calling for Fields to be benched. Some even encouraged the team to tank for Texas QB Arch Manning in the 2026 NFL draft.

Justin Fields is the worst QB to ever play for the Jets. He’s not even a real quarterback. I’m all for the Jets drafting Fernando Mendoza, Ty Simpson, or a resurgent Arch Manning if he wins out at Texas,” one fan wrote.

Bench Justin Fields,” one fan commented.

Are they gonna bench Justin Fields?” one fan asked.

Fans continued to discuss Fields on X.

You can bench Justin Fields these guys are open,” one fan wrote.

The Jets need to tank, trade some pieces, bench Justin Fields and start over next year!” one fan commented.

If Aaron Glenn thinks Justin Fields is so bad that he refuses to call pass plays, he should probably bench Justin Fields,” one fan added.

The New York Jets Will Try To Pull Off an Upset Over the Denver Broncos

While some fans are calling for the Jets to bench Justin Fields and tank for the rest of the season, many would still be happy to watch their team win. While Fields got out to a bad start, the team was still in the mix with two minutes remaining in the first half. They were losing 10-6, giving them an opportunity to steal the game in the second half.

While the Jets have struggled this season, they have had several competitive games. On three occasions, they have lost by one possession or less.
