Skip Bayless Offers Blunt Reality Check On Shedeur Sanders’ Life With Cleveland Browns: “Stuck in Hell”

Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders was one of the most discussed players in the offseason. His position on the Browns’ depth chart has been a big topic of conversation. Playing behind Joe Flacco and Dillon Gabriel, it appears unlikely he will get snaps this season unless there are several injuries.

On Saturday, media personality Skip Bayless spoke about how Shedeur Sanders is “stuck in hell.” He pointed out that the Browns also signed Bailey Zappe after he was initially cut. Notably, Bayless has been one of Sanders’ biggest supporters since his time in college.

“Allow me to conclude by getting angry once again about Shedeur Sanders,” Skip Bayless said. “The other day, I’m thinking, well at least in Cleveland, at least if Joe Flacco’s gonna get banged up, they’re probably gonna get Dillon Gabriel in there. You never know what could happen to Dillon Gabriel; he’s smallish. Maybe Shedeur gets his shot. And then I stumble upon the fact that the Cleveland Browns did this to Shedeur Sanders.

“They re-signed Bailey Zappe. They did that to Shedeur Sanders. Stefanski has no use for Shedeur Sanders. There was a report that a lot of the practice snaps are now being split between Flacco, Gabriel, and Zappe, and that Shedeur is mostly watching. Shedeur is still stuck in hell in Cleveland,” he added.

When Could Shedeur Sanders Get an Opportunity To Start for Cleveland Browns?

If Shedeur Sanders is going to start this season for the Cleveland Browns, a lot will need to change. As things stand, Joe Flacco is the starter. While the veteran QB is older, he is still effective. If he gets injured, Dillon Gabriel is expected to be given the first opportunity to start.

Shedeur Sanders sits behind Gabriel as third on the depth chart. Despite Skip Bayless’ concerns about Bailey Zappe, he is the fourth-string QB and only on the practice squad. As a result, Browns fans do not appear to worry about Zappe getting starts before Sanders.

There is also the chance that late in the season, the Browns will give Gabriel and Sanders a chance to start if they are out of playoff contention. That appears likely given the team’s 0-2 start.
