Despite the 8-2 start, the Indianapolis Colts finished the season 8-9, losing the final seven games on the trot, as they missed the playoffs ultimately.
Colts co-owner and CEO Carlie Irsay-Gordon recently spoke about the team’s direction, disappointment and expectations for the offseason. Irsay-Gordon didn’t like how the season ended, as she said:
“You’re right to be frustrated with how the latter part of our season went,” Isray-Gordon said. “I’m pissed. We are all pissed. Our extremely disappointing second half of the season wasn’t up to our standard. And that falls on me.”
NFL analyst Dan Dakich ripped into the Colts CEO, saying she doesn’t know how to run and manage a football team.
“I gotta tell you, Carlie Irsay is unfit to do anything, much less run a professional football franchise,” Dakich said. “She’s sitting there trying to BS all of us. Now it’s a sense of urgency. It’s never been higher? Really? Where’s it been the last nine years? We gotta finish strong? Really? Nine years. I mean, it’s been five years where you had a chance to get involved in the playoffs late, and you’ve crapped the bed. But now we’re gonna get serious about it?”
Using her example, Dakich brought the white privilege into the discussion.
“I’m telling you, Carlie Irsay, I wouldn’t let her be a producer on my radio show, much less run the Colts. Good for her, though. I mean, white privilege is real. She happened to marry into the lottery, so now she gets to run an NFL team.”
Dakich further asked Indianapolis to find an “adult male with the great American penis” to replace Isray-Gordon.

Colts Retain HC and GM After Making NFL History
The Colts became the first team in NFL history to finish the season with a losing record after an 8-2 start. Despite that, the Colts management has decided to retain general manager Chris Ballard and head coach Shane Steichen.
However, Carlie Isray-Gordon made it clear that their return beyond the 2026 season is dependent on tangible improvement next year.
“We have been very clear with Chris and Shane that giving them another opportunity means the sense of urgency for them to deliver and perform has never been higher,” Isray-Gordon said.
The Colts’ losing streak can be attributed to key injuries, most notably quarterback Daniel Jones suffering a season-ending Achilles tear. However, the Colts leadership will no longer accept injuries as excuses for not making the postseason.
