Days After Heartbreaking Breakup, Analyst Calls Out Alix Earle for Throwing Away Longtime BF Braxton Berrios

Alix Earle reportedly broke up with Houston Texans wide receiver Braxton Berrios after over two years of dating. The couple first went public in 2023, but out of nowhere, this breakup was reported, followed by confirmation from both sides.

Now, after the heartbreaking breakup, comedian Jared Freid pondered on the double standard in how breakups are discussed when women initiate them, specifically pointing to Earle’s situation.

“Alix Earle ended things with her boyfriend, Braxton Berrios,” Freid said. “When a man gets thrown away or tossed aside, the tenor of the conversation is always about how she’s going to get with bigger, better, richer men. In the relationship game, the easy answer is always living in the punch-up, punch-down dynamic, woman, man. The man is in charge of dating the woman and is seen as the victim.

“And when it switches and the audience doesn’t switch with that, it’s easy to say, ‘Oh, these women are getting left by these guys for prettier, hotter women,’ and then you hear about how they have no time left on their clock. But the minute a woman switches it up, everyone just says the same thing. I think when women do it, it’s said out loud and everyone is cool with it.”

According to the comedian, when a woman leaves a man in the high profile relationship, it’s often assumed that they are going after a richer man. In this case, Berrios has been framed as disposable, while Earle is assumed to be moving on to “bigger, better, richer” options.

Freid shared his thoughts on how a woman receives sympathy when a man initiates the breakup, while, when a flip happens, the man receives no love after leaving the woman.

Alix Earle Publicly Addresses Breakup With Braxton Berrios

After breakup rumors went viral, Alix Earle publicly confirmed the rumors while highlighting the reason behind their breakup.

“It’s just been really hard to process in general, and I think why I’ve been scared to say something is because I feel like it just makes it more real,” Earle said. “Braxton and I are no longer together. We have been doing long distance since basically June and we haven’t gotten to see each other that often.”

Earle’s stint on Dancing With The Stars in LA, where she finished runner-up, made her realize that she wants to spend more time there. She pointed that the long-distance challenges in their relationship were too much to overcome. She ruled out any type of animosity towards Berrios as well.

“I think that was a scary thing for me to realize because it meant us not being in the same place,” she continued. “A part of me just also really wants to be focusing on myself right now and I just feel like I can’t be what Braxton needs. I want him to have someone with him 24/7 who can support him and be there for him — and he wasn’t really expecting that of me, I think it was more a me thing — but I constantly felt guilty.”

Earle also mentioned that she completely understands that Berrios’ football schedule didn’t allow him to attend the finale of her Dancing With The Stars. Because of this, fans have blamed the Texans star for not playing his part in the relationship. But Earle understands that wasn’t the case.
