Brooklyn Adams, the girlfriend of Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, isn’t in love with being referred to as a WAG. WAG is a title that the ‘Wives and Girlfriends’ of famous athletes often get saddled with. It has undertones of them not usually having a defined career, and committing their lives to hedonism and opulence for its own sake.

In a recent interview for Abercrombie’s “In Her Own League” campaign, Adams pushed back against this narrative:
“We’re more than wives and girlfriends of athletes…if you got to know me, then you’d realize that I’m more than just a girlfriend…I don’t like the WAG title…nothing against anybody who likes it. It’s cute that girls put their own twist on it. But to be given that title, I’m not a fan.”
In Adams’s case, this resonates where her own life. She’s a registered nurse who has dedicated significant time and effort to her career. Having met St. Brown in high school, their relationship is a testament to commitment, as they both were heavily involved in their career paths. Hers in nursing school, and his in football.
What Does Brooklyn Adams Do Nowadays?
Adams graduated from nursing school in 2024. Almost immediately, she realized that her boyfriend’s status as a famous athlete needn’t be an obstacle to her career. Quite the contrary, she has used it as a way to enhance her own path.

Currently, she works in the St. Brown Foundation, helping address low literacy in the state of Michigan.
“I knew I wanted to work in the hospital, but it led me down a different path,” Adams told People. “We’re a nonprofit focused on kids in education and giving them better opportunities.”
She has portrayed her work as a way to improve the health outcomes of children in Michigan through education, demonstrating that nursing skills can go far beyond the hospital.
