Allen Lazard joined the New York Jets in 2023 on a four-year, $44 million contract. A month later, he was reunited with Aaron Rodgers, his quarterback when he played for the Green Bay Packers for four years.
The following year, Rodgers left New York for the Steelers, and now Lazard can reunite with him once again in Pittsburgh. The wide receiver was recently released by the Jets after three disappointing seasons.
The Jets brought in Lazard with high expectations, which was reflected in the deal he signed. However, the reality was far from that. This season, Lazard only had 10 catches for 70 yards and a touchdown in 10 games.
With three games left in the season, the veteran wide receiver would be able to sign with another team, and if he’s to listen to the fans, they already have a destination in mind.

“Damn forgot he was even on the team,” a fan wrote.
“Jets wasted him but then again who don’t they waste,” a fan wrote.
“100% a steeler,” a fan wrote.
“Releasing the wrong ppl,” a fan wrote.
“Gonna reunite with Rodgers again,” a fan wrote.
Lazard was playing a diminished role for the Jets this season. They have struggled once again, failing to produce a good season. The Jets are at the bottom of the AFC East with a 3-11 record and are already out of playoff contention.
Releasing Lazard has the potential of being a step in the right direction, but even the fans don’t have high expectations as far as their rebuilding ability is concerned.
Is Allen Lazard Going to Pittsburgh?
As of now, Lazard going to the Steelers is just a rumor. The idea of him reuniting with Rodgers is primarily driving this rumor. If we look past what the fans want, there’s no concrete evidence backing this.
However, the Steelers can use a veteran like him in their rotation. As of now, they have DK Metcalf, Calvin Austin III, Adam Thielen, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Ben Skowronek, Scotty Miller, and Roman Wilson.
Their depth chart isn’t as strong as the franchise would want it to be. Metcalf is the one truly dominating among the group with 808 yards. Even though Lazard himself has had multiple disappointing seasons, he can prove to be an asset with the right strategy. He’s an option worth considering.
