Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers suffered a fractured left wrist in Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals. In the Week 11 win, Rodgers was hit hard by the Bengals’ defensive line while he attempted a pass in the end zone late in the second quarter. He fell on his left wrist and was seen grabbing it immediately afterwards. He went to the locker room and was replaced by backup quarterback Mason Rudolph.
The quarterback enjoys a great record against the Chicago Bears, and the Steelers fans would like to know if the veteran will be available for the game.
Aaron Rodgers Injury Update
On Tuesday, Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin confirmed that Aaron Rodgers will not need surgery for the wrist injury.
“Really, it’s just about bracing and securing it for his comfort and safety. And then, it’s about how functional he is,” Tomlin said.
The report from head coach came after tests were conducted on his left wrist on Monday. It appears the results came back negative and as long as Rodgers feel comfortable snapping the ball, there’s a good chance he’ll feature against the Bears.
Will Aaron Rodgers Play This Week?
According to Mike Tomlin, Aaron Rodgers’ status for Sunday’s game will depend how the quarterback looks during Friday’s practice session.
“We’ll see where the week leads us and we’ll take it day by day,” Tomlin said.
The Steelers will monitor if Rodgers is able to throw, grip the football and avoid risking further injury.
Meanwhile, Rodgers is pushing to play against the Bears, a team against whom he enjoys a great record. He has gone 24-5 against the Bears, while throwing 57 touchdowns to just 10 interceptions.
If Rodgers is unable to go, backup Mason Rudolph will likely start, having already relieved Rodgers successfully in the recent game. In the win against the Bengals, Rudolph completed 12 of 16 passes for 127 yards and one touchdown.
In 2025, Rodgers has led the Steelers to a 6-4 record so far. He has completed 60% of his passes while throwing for 19 touchdowns and seven interceptions. The Steelers are the top team in the AFC North, but they can’t afford to get complacent and lose games as teams behind them are not too far away.
