It’s been a rough season for Minnesota Vikings running back Aaron Jones.
After a career season with the Vikings last year in which he rushed for a career-high 1,138 yards along with 408 receiving yards and seven total touchdowns, Jones has failed to replicate that same production in his second season in Minnesota.
Jones has rushed for just 300 yards and has 150 receiving yards and just two touchdowns scored. A big reason for Jones’ dip in production is injuries he’s suffered this season.
What Happened to Aaron Jones?
Aaron Jones has had three separate injuries this season. He pulled his hamstring in Week 2, causing him to miss four games and has suffered two minor shoulder injuries.
During Sunday’s game against the Seattle Seahawks, Jones landed on his shoulder and hurt his clavicle. The injury was unspecified

Appears to injure his left shoulder on the fumble. Lands directly on the side with the defender falling on top of him. Common cause for an AC joint injury, with enough force can cause clavicle fx. Hopefully just a sprain pic.twitter.com/HFWNjAFgOm

Will Aaron Jones Play Week 14?
While the specifics of his injury are unknown, Aaron Jones’ status is considered to be day-to-day. As of right now there’s no status on whether or not he is expected to play this Sunday against the Washington Commanders.
Vikings do not believe that running back Aaron Jones’ shoulder injury is serious, and he is likely to be considered day-to-day.

Aaron Jones Fantasy Outlook
Aaron Jones seems to be RB2 in Minnesota this season with Jordan Mason taking over as RB1. Mason averages more rushing yards per game (48.2 to Jones’ 37.5) and has been the more productive back of the two.
Jones is still a solid option as a flex start in fantasy in deeper leagues.
Fantasy Replacements If Aaron Jones Misses Week 14
If Aaron Jones is inactive this week and if fantasy owners need to replace him, a few options could be Los Angeles Chargers running back Kimani Vidal and Washington Commanders running back Chris Rodriguez.
Rodriguez has scored three touchdowns and has rushed for 200 yards in the last four games for Washington. Vidal rushed for over 100 yards this past weekend for a third time this season.
