NFL Mock Draft: Three QBs in Top 7

Throughout the NFL offseason, there have been thousands of Mock Drafts, and as we approach the draft day, the media begins to understand better where some of the top college players will land.

As the offseason has gone on, Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders have consistently been the two quarterbacks mocked in the first round. However, there’s growing hype that a third might be taken, and Yahoo Sports’ latest mock confirms that.

NFL Mock Draft: Jaxson Dart Selected in Top Ten

As I mentioned, I’ve been hard-pressed to find a mock draft this offseason that did not have Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders taken in the first round. However, Yahoo Sports’ Sam Farmer has former Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart being selected at seven overall to the New York Jets.

Dart has been receiving more first-round buzz as the offseason has gone on, but this might be the first mock I’ve seen with Dart in the top ten. The Jets just brought in Justin Fields via free agency, but I don’t think that necessarily stops them from selecting Dart.

Fields’ NFL career has been bumpy, but there’s a ton to like about Dart’s game. Out of all the quarterbacks in this draft class, I would argue that Dart has the best arm. Time and again, on tape, Dart has demonstrated his ability to make throws into any window and at any level of the field.

Dart also has great poise under pressure and often shows his ability to make throws with defenders in his face. He plays with swagger and confidence, which is something that you need as an NFL quarterback.

I don’t have Dart ranked as a top-ten talent or even a first-round talent, but if a QB-needy team sees the same flashes I see, I wouldn’t be shocked to see him be a day-one pick in April.
