The 2025 NFL Draft is just one day away, and the rumor mill is churning. Here are the top news stories that made the rounds yesterday and leading into this morning. Stay tuned, as this is likely only the beginning of what is going to be an eventful 2025 cycle.

Latest NFL Draft Rumors: Trade Buzz, Surprise Risers, and Insider Intel on Top Prospects
Where Will Ashton Jeanty Land?
According to NFL Draft analyst Todd McShay, “The Raiders are not taking Ashton Jeanty at No. 6.” However, that may be a moot point because the Jacksonville Jaguars could select him one pick earlier.
While there is certainly some buzz around such a move, I’d hit the brakes — at least slightly. New Jags GM James Gladstone joins the franchise after nine years with the Los Angeles Rams — a team known for maximizing running backs chosen later in the draft.
Colorado’s Travis Hunter, Shedeur Sanders Are the Talk of the Town
Travis Hunter is a top-three pick, easy. What’s difficult is pinpointing exactly where he will land. The NFL Network’s Peter Schrager said, “Texting every GM and every coach, and I’ll tell you this, around the league, the Titans, they’re not listening to trade offers.
“However, there have been phone calls made to both the Browns at No. 2 and the Giants at No. 3 with the intention to move up from several different sources telling me there are teams looking to get up in this draft to either the two or the three spot.”
It’s likely any team looking to trade up into the top three is targeting either Hunter or Penn State’s Abdul Carter.
Then, there’s Shedeur Sanders. As Charles Robinson of Yahoo! Sports reported, teams are split on Coach Prime’s son. Robinson noted that of 10 teams, half view him as a top-10 pick, while four more believe he will come off the board in the middle of Round 1.
There’s also the matter of a Times-Picayune report that the New Orleans Saints won’t select Sanders with the No. 9 overall pick. The Saints didn’t bring the Colorado QB in for a workout, so it’s not all that surprising, but there was some noise around the potential selection earlier in the process.
Will Jaxson Dart Sneak Into Round 1?
Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart is yet another signal-caller generating significant buzz, particularly in connection with the New York Giants. While speculation is rampant, several reports point toward the G-Men potentially making a move for the former Rebel.
The Ringer’s Todd McShay said, “I’ve actually heard one potential scenario is you take Carter at No. 3, you use Kayvon Thibodeaux as part of a package to then move back into the first round to get Jaxson Dart.”
Adding to the speculation in the Big Apple, Schrager indicated a preference within the Giants organization, stating there’s some “buzz” in New York about Dart being the “preferred quarterback to Shedeur Sanders” for the Giants.
Further fueling the rumors, Connor Hughes of SNY reported that Dart is a name to watch closely for the #Giants as a potential trade-up option on draft day. “Jaxson Dart is a name to watch for the #Giants as a trade-up option on Thursday. Sources I touched base with said he’s someone Brian Daboll is high on — most out of QBs other than Cam Ward.”
Jalen Milroe Rocketing Up Some Draft Boards
Alabama QB Jalen Milroe has generated considerable pre-draft discussion surrounding his uber-athletic profile. Despite significant rawness as a passer, his combination of traits and playmaking ability has prompted favorable comparisons to some of the NFL’s most dynamic quarterbacks.
An AFC QBs coach lauded his rushing prowess, stating, “He is the greatest runner of the football at the quarterback position I’ve ever seen. And there’s enough talent in the arm to make you want to play an offense that suits that.” Milroe even drew parallels to successful dual-threats like Jalen Hurts, Lamar Jackson, and Colin Kaepernick.
While Round 1 may be rich to some, a team at the back end (like the Pittsburgh Steelers or Rams) may be willing to bet on his immense upside while stashing him in Year 1.
Jerry Jones Hints at Potential Dallas Cowboys Trade
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones sparked trade rumors on Tuesday, announcing the team is actively working on “two pretty substantive trades” that could occur before or after the 2025 NFL Draft. While the specifics and whether they involve their No. 12 pick remain unknown, the team has multiple needs to address.
