NFL Draft Rumors: Giants GM’s Son Tips Potential First-Round Pick?

Does New York Giants general manager Joe Schoen’s son Carson know something we don’t?

After making his debut in the limelight on HBO’s “Hard Knocks” last season, urging dad to trade up into the top three picks for a quarterback, specifically Jayden Daniels, Carson seems to once again have a quarterback prospect in mind, Ole Miss’ Jaxson Dart.

Did the Giants GM’s Son Just Reveal Their Draft Plans? First-Round Rumors Swirl

In a post on his Instagram story, Carson reposted a Dart highlight reel, right before setting his account to private.

“Apparently Giants GM Joe Schoen’s son posted a Jaxson Dart highlight reel on IG this NFL Draft eve…and then set his account to private,” NFL analyst Warren Sharp posted on social media.

Rumors have swirled connecting the Giants and Dart, with some analysts, including The Athletic’s Dave Brugler, speculating the team could trade into the back of the first round to try and pick him up.

The Giants, who pick number three overall, after an abysmal 3-14 season, aren’t likely to take the quarterback that high, with most mock-drafters linking the team to Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter or Penn State EDGE Abdul Carter — whoever the Cleveland Browns don’t select at two.

With the Tennessee Titans likely to take Miami quarterback Cam Ward number one overall, some mock drafters, including FOX Sports’ Rob Rang, NFL.com’s Maurice Jones-Drew, The Draft Network’s Daniel Harms, and Pro Football Focus’ Max Chadwick have the Giants taking Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders.

ESPN’s Peter Schrager has also implied the team could be listening to calls to trade back in the draft.
