With the 2025 NFL Draft nearing, speculation swirls around quarterback Cam Ward and his potential fit with the Tennessee Titans. Despite analysts projecting him as a top pick, former NFL quarterback Chase Daniel argues Ward isn’t the premier prospect but could suit Tennessee’s needs perfectly.
The draft boasts a deep quarterback class featuring Shedeur Sanders, Carson Beck, and Quinn Ewers. Ward’s high ceiling makes him an intriguing long-term solution for quarterback-needy teams like the Titans.

Miami QB Cam Ward to The Titans? Chase Daniel Weighs In
As the 2025 NFL Draft nears, speculation continues to build around Miami quarterback Cam Ward and his potential landing spot. With 4,313 passing yards, 39 touchdowns, and just seven interceptions in his senior season, Ward has proven his ability to lead an offense.
The Tennessee Titans, in search of a long-term quarterback solution, have shown strong interest. They sent top executives to his pro day and even took him to dinner, a sign they are seriously considering drafting him.
Former NFL quarterback Chase Daniel sees Ward as a potential franchise cornerstone, though he remains cautious in labeling him the best player available. While appearing on Scoop City, Daniel said,
“I think this has been leaning toward Cam Ward for a long time and if you just purely watch his film, is he the best overall player? No, okay, I think that’s Abdul Carter, Travis Hunter. However, he is a really, really good quarterback, and that is what the Titans need right now.
“I think it would be not smart to pass up on him. The way I see the quarterback draft, we haven’t really got into this, it’s Cam Ward above everyone.”
The Titans’ quarterback situation remains uncertain as Will Levis, under contract through 2025, has yet to solidify his role as a long-term starter. Ward’s skill set could pair well with head coach Brian Callahan, whose offensive expertise helped shape Cincinnati’s attack in recent years.
Daniel, co-host of FS1’s The Facility, emphasized Ward’s ability to make elite throws under pressure, noting,
“He can go 1-2-3 [in his progressions], throw a seam ball over a linebacker’s head and in front of a safety like I’ve never seen before.”
Despite concerns over the overall strength of this quarterback class, Daniel believes Ward should be the top pick.
NFL Mock Draft: Surprise QB Pick at No. 7 as Jets Take Jaxson Dart
“This is not a great top-end quarterback class. If you were to take Cam Ward or Shedeur Sanders and put them in last year’s draft, they’d probably be QB6 or 7. … I do think Cam Ward should go No. 1.”
With Ward’s strong arm, pocket awareness, and ability to extend plays without abandoning his reads, Tennessee could see him as their next franchise leader.
