Arch Manning’s first season as Texas’ starting quarterback has been nothing short of a challenge. While he was seen struggling during the debut game against Ohio State in week 1, week 2 against SJSU gave fans some hope. However, when the Longhorns won against UTEP with just 17 points, the fans lost their cool.
Manning took accountability for his not up to the mark performances in the last few games. Cam Newton advised Arch Manning to stop having the “attitude” of his desire to prove everyone wrong. He said on ESPN:
“Don’t have the attitude or the energy because it’s not healthy to try to prove everybody wrong. Have the have the mentality that you want to prove yourself right. Everybody goes into this dynamic where it’s like, man, I told you, I can’t wait to see Cam because I’mma tell him that he’s I can’t wait to see Paul. I can’t wait to see Stephen. That’s not the energy to have in this type of situation.”
“We know that you’re good, Arch. It’s time for you to start proving to yourself that you belong in this SEC. And everything that Paul Finebaum has even said that you can be as well as everybody alike, it’s still within your future this year. It’s just now for you to start making it make sense,” he added (9:00).

The Texas quarterback also talked about his inability to make complete throws and said he’s been an accurate passer all his life and he just needs to get back to that.
During a presser on monday, Steve Sarkisian was asked about the fans backlash the team has been facing, especially after Manning was heavily booed during the Week 3 match.
“We have set a standard and spent money, time and effort to watch us play. If they were booing about the way we were playing, imagine how we were feeling about how we were playing. Don’t give up on us too quick,” Sarkisian said.
Sarkisian on fan frustration: We have set a standard and spent money, time and effort to watch us play.
“If they were booing about the way we were playing, imagine how we were feeling about how we were playing.”
Sark says he still believes Texas is a good team and adds, “don’t…
