Isaiah Neyor’s football journey has been anything but smooth, yet here he stands at the doorstep of the NFL. After three different college stops, a devastating knee injury, and countless “what-ifs,” the former Nebraska receiver has landed with the San Francisco 49ers as an undrafted free agent after the 2025 draft.
Remember that kid from Fort Worth who lit up Wyoming’s offense? That was Neyor in his early college days, turning heads with an absurd 31-yard average per catch as a freshman.
By his sophomore year, he was terrorizing Mountain West defenses with 44 catches, 878 yards, and 12 touchdowns. At 20 yards per catch, he wasn’t just making plays – he was breaking games open.

49ers Sign Isaiah Neyor As UDFA After His Impressive Combine Performance
The stats don’t jump off the page – just 87 career catches across five college seasons – but Neyor’s physical gifts had NFL scouts doing double-takes at the Combine. When a 6’4″, 218-pound receiver runs a blazing 4.40 forty, people notice. His 9.90 Relative Athletic Score ranked among the best in his receiver class.

“Neyor didn’t produce a lot in college—but he also caught 17 touchdown passes and averaged a whopping 18.3 yards per catch, so he’s a big-play guy. And that’s because he’s 6’4″, 218 pounds, he runs a 4.40 and he’s a good route runner. That’s why the NFL invited him to the Combine despite his meager production,” Grant Cohn of SI.com said.
While Cohn cautioned that “he might never land a spot on a 53-man roster—he probably will start his career on the practice squad and he could end it there too if he doesn’t improve dramatically,” the 49ers clearly see something worth developing.
Just when Neyor seemed poised for stardom, life threw curveballs. After committing to Tennessee, he flipped to Texas – only to tear his ACL before ever playing a down. One catch for 14 yards. That’s all his Longhorns career amounted to.
Most would’ve been crushed, but Neyor wasn’t done. His final transfer brought him to Nebraska, where he caught 34 passes for 455 yards and led the team with five touchdown grabs in 2024. Not Wyoming numbers, but a testament to his determination.

Now, Neyor joins Kyle Shanahan’s 49ers – a team known for turning overlooked receivers into contributors. For a guy who’s traveled from Wyoming’s high plains to Texas to Nebraska, landing in San Francisco feels like the perfect next chapter.
His college story may have been messy and incomplete, but with his rare combination of size and speed, Neyor’s NFL story could still have a Hollywood ending.
