On Tuesday, Nebraska Cornhuskers quarterback Dylan Raiola donned a fresh look for the 2025 Big Ten Media Days. With his fit being posted by Barstool Big Ten on X, several college football fans couldn’t help but see similarities between him and Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes.

Raiola’s new hairstyle looks similar to Mahomes’ signature curly top look. The red accents on Raiola’s suit can also be attributed to Mahomes always playing for teams with red colors; his college program was the Texas Tech Red Raiders, and he now plays for the Chiefs in the NFL.

College football fans reacted to Raiola’s media day outfit, as a few saw it as something Mahomes may wear.

“Why’s he wearing red? Copying Mahomes,” one user claimed with a thinking emoji.

“He seems to be wearing a suit. Something Patrick Mahomes also does. Copying?” another user pointed out.

“Temu Mahomes,” another said.

“Oh, fake Mahomes,” a user wrote with a clown emoji.

For other users on X, especially the Cornhuskers faithful, they were just happy to see their incoming second-year starting quarterback pull off an attention-grabbing outfit for this year’s conference media day.

“QB1 is flexin’ on ’em!,” one fan exclaimed.

“Can’t believe I’m gonna witness DR hoisting the Heisman trophy,” another fan shared with a salute emoji.

“My QB got that sh*t on,” a fan posted with a GIF.

In his freshman year, Raiola was the starting quarterback for the Cornhuskers, who finished with an overall record of 7-6 (3-6, Big Ten). They capped off the 2024-25 season with a five-point win, 20-15, against the Boston College Eagles in the Bad Boy Mowers Pinstripe Bowl.

Dylan Raiola is Confident that 2025-26 Nebraska Cornhuskers will Close Out Games Better

During his press conference at the 2025 Big Ten Media Days, Dylan Raiola was asked about the team’s mindset heading into the 2025-26 season, especially since there was prior criticism of their ability to close out games.

Raiola shared what kind of mentality coach Matt Rhule is trying to instill in him and the rest of his squad.

“Yeah, it’s something that coach Rhule talks to our team about all the time, and it’s the winning moments, the last five minutes of the fourth quarter. That’s kind of been a thing in Nebraska is we get in close games and we just somehow can’t finish it, right? The narrative is going to have to change this year, and our guys are confident that we have the right players and the right pieces to go make those plays and want the ball in their hands,” Raiola explained on YouTube channel ‘HuskerMax’ (15:23).

Raiola heads into the next campaign with the Nebraska Cornhuskers as a sophomore. It starts on Aug. 28 against the Cincinnati Bearcats at the GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri.
