Steve Kerr’s Latest Reality Check for Stephen Curry And Co. Invites Damning Criticism from Ex-NBA Pros

The Golden State Warriors look like a weak team at the moment. They have not been able to capitalize on their chances this season and have been dangling around the .500 mark. With or without Stephen Curry, the Warriors have not made their mark on the NBA.

The Warriors are 19-17 and stand eighth in the Western Conference. Steve Kerr seems much less confident in his team than the Warriors have proved over the years. Despite Curry still putting up unbelievable numbers, the rest of the Warriors have been extremely underwhelming all season.

After Klay Thompson’s exit, Jimmy Butler’s arrival hasn’t turned out to be the best of trades for Kerr’s side. The head coach recently shared a message for his team, saying that maybe the Warriors are a fading dynasty. He seemed hopeless, but did talk about improvements that would once again make them contenders. However, a couple of former players, including DeMarcus Cousins, have slammed Steve Kerr for his most recent comments.

“I don’t like it one bit. I just think about it in the aspect if this was a player saying this, how it would be viewed. You know what I mean? This doesn’t instil confidence in your locker room. This actually to me actually shows who’s the real problem in this situation,” DeMarcus Cousins claimed Steve Kerr to be the issue with the Warriors.

“You’re speaking down on your team. You’re not really instilling confidence in this group. It’s been problem after problem as far as development over the years. So, it’s obvious why you’re kind of in this position that you’re in now with this group, but you know, this type of message, this type of energy, you know, this type of lack of confidence in your group, it’s only going to spread within the rest of the guys,” he continued.

“If the roles were reversed and this was a player speaking in this way, his name would be tarnished. So, I think the same thing applies to this coach. Uh, I disagree with everything he says,” he added.

Chandler Parsons mentioned how this is not a young team that could benefit from this type of message and get motivated.

“This is not a championship team. It’s a bunch of guys that are out of their prime that can still compete and are good enough to win games and you still have Steph Curry and you still have Jimmy Butler, you still have Draymond Green, you still have all those assets that are good enough to win games. Now, when you look across the league though, the league the league doesn’t wait. The league the league has caught up. the league and moves on fast and now there are so many other teams that are better than the Warriors,” Chandler Parsons said.

Fans React to Steve Kerr Getting Labeled as the ‘Problem’ With the Warriors

Fans online totally agreed with Parsons and Cousins and shared their opinions.

“It’s not about this year. It’s about the last three and how Klay & Poole left,” one fan claimed.

“Agree. He’s been the problem for a long time. He was good once cuz he had skilled talent. They’re easily to coach, young talent he doesn’t develop them instead he hurts them by benching them except for Podz. Kerr lost his fire to win championships,” one fan commented.

“Yeah he’s been the issue,” another agreed.

“They had a good run, they have nothing to be mad about, but when it’s over it’s over,” one fan said.
