San Antonio Spurs vs Memphis Grizzlies Preview and Prediction

The San Antonio Spurs have been one of the biggest surprises in the NBA this season. Sitting second in the Western Conference with a 25-10 record, San Antonio has emerged as a legitimate contender through the first half of the year. Their record includes three wins over the OKC Thunder, along with other victories against Western Conference powerhouses such as the Houston Rockets and the Denver Nuggets.

The Memphis Grizzlies, on the other hand, are going through a rough stretch. Despite having high-level talent such as Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson Jr. on its roster, Memphis finds itself 10th in the conference standings with a 15-20 record. They also come into Tuesday’s matchup on a four-game losing streak and are still looking for their first win of the new calendar year.

San Antonio has already beaten Memphis twice this season, with both wins witnessing Victor Wembanyama being sidelined with injuries. In the 111-101 win on Nov. 18, De’Aaron Fox led the way with 26 points. Two weeks later, the Spurs secured a 126-119 victory on Dec. 2, backed by Harrison Barnes’ 31-point performance.

San Antonio may again be without Wembanyama and Devin Vassell. However, Memphis appears to be in a tougher spot with Morant, Brandon Clarke, Vince Williams Jr., and John Konchar being featured on the injury report.

Prediction: Expect the Spurs to win by 13 points.
