Los Angeles Lakers legend LeBron James and Golden State Warriors great Stephen Curry are two greats of the game. One of the rarest dynamics where despite competing at the highest level for years, LeBron and Steph have a close bond. Their legendary battles have often brought the best in them. They have utmost respect for each other and are never shy to show off their bromance.
It is always a sight to see when LeBron and Steph face each other on the court. However, it is even more special every time the duo has shared the court as teammates – either it be during the All-Star games or for Team USA. LeBron and Steph complement each other perfectly.
In 2024, the duo combined for the Olympics and showcased their brilliance. Team USA had an easy-going group stage with three wins and a point difference of +64. LeBron and Steph led another easy win vs Brazil in the quarterfinals. However, the semifinals and the final were where the team was tested. Team USA eventually won the gold medal. But question remained whether this was LeBron and Steph’s last Olympics appearance.
Recently on ‘Mind the Game’ podcast with Steve Nash, LeBron James and Stephen Curry discussed the possibility of playing in the 2028 Olympics. Two of them talked about their respective ages. LeBron hilariously made his views clear on the next Olympics.
“You already know my answer. So don’t you even, don’t even [ask me]. I will be watching it in from Cabo,” LeBron said (44:15) when Nash popped the question about their availability for 2028 Olympics. Nash asked if he had done enough Olympics. LeBron replied in a tired tone, “Yes, man.”
Stephen Curry’s answer was not that definitive. He said, “It is the opposite answer what I told him [LeBron James] last year. It’s like, God willing, I still have the choice and the physical option to be like, I could actually impact the team. Never say never, but I highly doubt it. Highly doubt it.”
LeBron James And Stephen Curry Revisit Warriors Legend’s Iconic Olympic Game
LeBron shared how he saw a Stephen Curry special coming in the 2024 Olympics final as Team USA were under some pressure vs Victor Wembanyama’s France. Steph pulled out his iconic ‘Night, Night’ celebration and LeBron was amazed.
“The last one. Whatever that was, he didn’t, you know, he didn’t see the rim on the last one. What? ‘Night, Night’ time everybody. It’s time to go to bed,” LeBron James said. James also shared how it felt playing with Steph, “I was like everything and more. It was perfect.”
