LeBron James’ Son Bryce Drops 2-Word Reaction As Chris Paul Witnesses His Son’s 33 Point Performance

Chris Paul’s son seems to be as good a hooper as his dad. In a recent showcase at the Tark Classic, CP junior dropped 33 points, six rebounds, three assists, and four steals for his team. While he went off in this game to showcase his skills, he also earned the appreciation from fellow legend LeBron James’ son, Bryce James. Commenting on CPII’s impressive show, Bryce wrote,

    “Overly pro.”

Even Gilbert Arenas took notice of the young teenage sensation’s skills and gave him a new nickname, “Mr Flame Thrower.” Sure enough, Chris Paul II has definitely inherited the best skills of his father, who is otherwise widely considered one of the greatest point guards in the league’s history.

Chris Paul II is focused on carving out his own identity while balancing the heavy expectations that come with being the son of a future Hall of Famer. To play for his father’s CP3 Nike-sponsored travel team, he commutes weekly between Los Angeles and North Carolina, a gruelling schedule that allows him to reconnect with his roots and refine his skills under coach Dejuan Harris.

Despite the external spotlight, the young athlete remains disciplined in his personal growth, stating, “I’ve just tried to block out all of the noise since I was little and stay in my lane and stay on my path,” and adding, “I focus on trying to win for my team.” Though he resides in California, his loyalty remains with his home state, noting, “When people ask me where I’m from, I say North Carolina but I live in L.A.”

While his father was playing for the San Antonio Spurs last season, Chris Paul II was utilizing the off-season to study the intricacies of the point guard position and maximize his time together.

He values these moments deeply, explaining, “My dad lives in San Antonio now and I don’t get to see him as much. I get to see him in the summers and don’t take that time for granted.” Although fans are already speculating about his college choice, he is staying patient and prioritizing his development over recruitment hype.” He shared his perspective on the future, saying, “It’s a little too early but I hope to keep showcasing my skills and keep playing good and that’ll take care of itself. I just want to go somewhere where they want me and have a good relationship with the coach. I’m still young and am working to see what I’ve got to do. I want to see who wants me and where I can make an impact.”

LeBron James Was Silent Over Chris Paul’s Clippers Drama

After Chris Paul announced his plan to retire following the 2025-2026 season, LeBron James expressed his desire for his long-time friend to find fulfilment in his final year. At the time, Paul was with the Los Angeles Clippers, hoping for a championship finish, and James noted the importance of Paul being near his family, stating,

“I just want him to be as happy as he possibly can. I don’t want him to look back on what he’s done and be like, ‘You know, I was angry or didn’t take full advantage of your last year, things of that nature.’ I know he’s happy being back in LA with his family… I hope he can just get joy out of this final year.”

However, Paul’s “last rodeo” has taken a sharp downturn as the struggling Clippers have sidelined him, keeping him on the roster but away from the court. Despite the backlash from the NBA community regarding the team’s treatment of a franchise legend, LeBron James declined to take a side after a recent Lakers loss to the Clippers, telling reporters,

“I haven’t talked to him. Not for me to comment on, to be honest. It’s none of my business.”

Before being sent home, Paul struggled to find his rhythm in 16 games off the bench, averaging just 2.9 points and 3.3 assists while shooting 32 per cent from the field, leaving his future uncertain as the February trade deadline approaches.
