The Lakers started the season really well when Luka Doncic and Austin Reeves were on a charge. With LeBron James recovering from injury, the Lakers were doing decent. Many believed that LeBron’s return would inspire the Lakers even more. Many believed the opposite. This was the first time in LeBron’s career that he had missed the opening day of an NBA season.
A lot of people have also been pointing fingers at LeBron James for the Lakers’ sudden dip in form. Despite LeBron still being at the top, the Lakers are not functioning as well as JJ Redick would have hoped. Ever since LeBron’s single-digit night, where a record of almost 1300 games got broken, LeBron has been a different beast.
In the last 5 games, he has averaged 26.2 points. However, the Lakers have lost 3 out of those 5 games. Former NBA pro Kendrick Perkins recently made his feelings clear about the Lakers and the relationship with LeBron.

“Watching that game last night and I was a teammate with LeBron James. Grew up playing against him. Played with him at AAOU. McDonald’s All-American. I know this man when he’s not engaged or he feels some type of way, his body, it speaks in his body language. Last night, his body language was awful,” Perkins said.
“He was not engaged. He was pouting. He was moping. He was walking up and down the damn floor. He was complaining. And I just think it’s we’re to this point. What LeBron and the Lakers have their relationship has run its course and they need to figure out a solution,” he continued.
“And the solution is not him being in a Los Angeles Lakers uniform. I know LeBron James is old, but this He knows that this roster is not built. He has went to 10, 15 uh NBA finals. He knows that this roster don’t have enough. Hell, Rich Paul just said it on this podcast that the Lakers are not legit title contenders. Rich Paul is LeBron James agent, so they both feel that way,” Kendrick Perkins concluded.
Fans React to Kendrick Perkins’ Harsh Take on LeBron James’ Relationship With Lakers
Fans did not agree with Kendrick. However, a lot of fans do think the Lakers need to improve soon.
“When the Lakers ball Luka gets the credit when they lose it’s Bron fault,” one fan complained.
“Perk just be talking for the sake of it man,” one fan disagreed with Perk.
“I don’t believe a thing Perk says,” another said.
“Send him home like Clippers did CP3,” one fan commented.
“The Lakers play better without him,” another claimed.
