LeBron James Explains How “Dangerous” Stephen Curry Is While Comparing Shohei Ohtani With Warriors Legend

LeBron James has praised Stephen Curry many times over the years, but his latest take might be one of his most revealing. On a recent episode of ‘Mind the Game’, where Curry appeared as a guest, James broke down what makes the Warriors superstar such a unique offensive force.

He called Curry a complete player who can hurt defenses in every possible way. What stood out, though, was how LeBron explained this by comparing him to Shohei Ohtani, the four-time Major League Baseball MVP.

James pointed to Ohtani’s recent postseason explosion, where he hit three home runs and struck out ten batters in a single game. In baseball, doing both at that level is almost unheard of. He used that as a parallel to Curry’s impact in basketball.

“What makes Steph one of the most dangerous players of all time is the fact that you’re gonna get it in so many different ways,” James SAID. (From 2:29)

The Lakers superstar explained some of the instances where Steph has the ability to explode, but what separates him from other great players is his ability to control the game without being in possession of the ball.

“If you cover me well, I’mma get off the ball, and I don’t care getting off the ball,” James explained. “A lot of guys will give in to give up the ball because they feel uncomfortable with moving and losing control.”

Steph, on the other hand, is widely regarded as the best off-ball player in the league because of his unparalleled movement, gravity, and ability to create scoring opportunities without the ball. James believes that being so effective with or without the ball is what makes the four-time NBA Champion one of the biggest threats in league history.

Steve Kerr on What’s Common Between Stephen Curry and Michael Jordan

Steve Kerr has seen greatness up close in two different eras. He played alongside Michael Jordan in Chicago and has coached Stephen Curry for a decade in Golden State. That perspective gives him a rare ability to compare the two, and he recently spoke about the similarities he sees between them.

Kerr pointed out that the first thing that stands out is the connection these players have with fans. He recalled arriving at an arena and seeing a massive crowd lined up at the gates, most of them in Curry jerseys.

It reminded him of his days with the Bulls, when Jordan’s jersey flooded arenas everywhere they went. Their ability to command energy is unmatched. Kerr emphasized that this comes from their love for the challenge and their commitment to performing at the highest level every night.

“These two guys kind of transcend the sport… like people just want to root for these guys, whether it’s Jordan or Steph, there’s just an incredible aura about them, no matter what arena you’re in. They are the center of attention,” Kerr SAID on 95.7 The Game.

He mentioned that both players always understood that many fans might get only one chance in their lives to see them play. Jordan carried that responsibility, and Curry does too. They value the people who support them and take pride in delivering a memorable performance every time.
