Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James had a slow start to his 2025 season, but he finally put his former dominant self version in the win over the Philadelphia 76ers. In the 112-108 win on Sunday night, LeBron was joined by Luka Doncic in their return to the lineup.
LeBron scored 29 points on 12-of-17 shooting. He added seven rebounds and six assists. Along with one steal and one block, LeBron’s shooting downpour involved four made threes. He dropped 10 straight points in the fourth quarter, including threes and a fadeaway, to turn a tight game in the Lakers’ favor late. Meanwhile, his scoring partner, Doncic, registered a triple-double with 31 points, 15 rebounds and 11 assists. He also recorded two blocks.
Lakers center Deandre Ayton, who had 14 points and 12 rebounds, had the best seat in the court “watching the movie,” seeing the four-time NBA champion take the 76ers by storm. The Lakers star shared his respect for LeBron in his post-game interview:
“Nah, it was just me watching the movie. It was just me, honestly. It was a dope moment.
And yeah, he had his moment and the fans felt him. And yeah, he just, you know what I’m saying? Just let that marinate and the fans were loving it. You know, he did his… Yeah, I was loving this s*it. I had stopped celebrating just to watch him, so I don’t miss anything. So yeah, it was a movie.”

The latest game-winning performance was important in many aspects. LeBron has struggled with injuries to begin the 2025 season. He’s been dealing with sciatica and a left-foot issue recently.
Moreover, just recently he saw his historic 1,297-game streak of scoring double digits coming to an end after he managed to put up only 8 points against the Toronto Raptors despite playing 36 minutes. James later revealed he was not “100%.”
LeBron James Moves To 2nd Place in All-Time Win List
With the win on Sunday night, LeBron James has surpassed Robert Parish by recording 1,015 career wins. Now, he only trails Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who has 1,074 wins. The Lakers forward has been in the NBA since 2003, when he was selected first overall by the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The four-time NBA champion has already surpassed Abdul-Jabbar in terms of most points scored in the NBA last season. He’s at the pinnacle of several more NBA’s all-time records.
The Lakers will like to see him continue roaring alongside MVP candidate Luka Doncic to extract a championship season.
