Saturday night’s game between the Denver Nuggets and Houston Rockets almost turned into a battlefield at the Mile High City. Rockets star Kevin Durant had a heated exchange with Nuggets guard Bruce Brown sparring war of words on the court. Durant finished with a 31-point game, helping the Rockets clinch a 115-101 win over Denver. However, Brown wasn’t quite happy with how the confrontation took place.
It’s interesting to note that both Brown and Durant used to be teammates for two seasons during their time with the Brooklyn Nets. But now, the former compatriots seem to have a beef ongoing. Speaking of this altercation in the post-game conference, Brown said,
“I wish there was fighting. I wish we didn’t get a fine. Would’ve had some fun. As a man, there’s things you don’t say to another man.”
However, Kevin Durant isn’t someone to let go of such incidents easily. Neither did he hold back in making his apparent feelings clear about his former teammate. Responding back to Brown with a jab, Durant replied,
“It’s part of the game. Some people can talk and play. Some people can’t.”
Both Durant and Brown declined to speak about what the exchange between the two was about. However, seemed like the intensity of the matchup further inspired KD to keep a hostile and dominant approach throughout the game. Also, the fact that he was facing a championship-calibre team as the Nuggets further added to the cause.
“I love it,” Durant said. “I mean, you’re coming in here, and playing with a championship organization, where arguably, in my opinion, one of the top ten players, five players that I’ve ever seen play basketball— that’s how much respect I’ve got for these dudes, that I want to get up… bring that energy, bring that fight….It might go cross the line. But that’s basketball, sometimes. So, Bruce will be alright.”

So, is this another anticipated rivalry that might be one of the highlight storylines for this season? Bruce Brown says he looks forward to facing the Rockets once again when they return to Denver to finish out the season series on March 11.
Kevin Durant reveals the reason why he stops showering for several days
Kevin Durant recently appeared on Fred VanVleet’s Unguarded podcast and answered something unconventional. The questions weren’t about his basketball legacy or career but rather something different – about his haircuts, using lotions, and showering. When VanVleet asked Durant why he never brushes his hair or lotions his body, he had this to say,
“For what? Why get cuts? Why? Why? Why lotion my… Why lotion? I don’t lotion my body like that. I might lotion my hands if they a little dry, but I don’t.” [2:07:09]
However, when he was asked about how often he showers, the two-time NBA champion replied, “I might go two days sometimes without [showering], you know what I mean, hopping in that water, wait ’til I get to the gym.”
In Durant’s answer, there seemed to be a tinge of indifference, meaning he doesn’t care much about this kind of stuff anymore. To explain this, he added, “I really used to care at some point about like, ‘Man, I need to get a cut this week. Then after a while, I was like, ‘I’m way more relaxed when I’m just not giving a f**k. So, I just stop getting cuts, stop lotioning… I take showers.”
