James Harden-Kevin Durant Reunion Is What Houston Rockets Need, As Per NBA Champion

James Harden and Kevin Durant go back a long way. Durant was drafted as the second overall pick in the 2007 NBA Draft. He was drafted by the Seattle SuperSonics and then played for the Oklahoma City Thunder the next year. Harden was drafted as the third overall pick by Oklahoma in 2009.

Kevin Durant had just started to take command of the Thunder team when James Harden arrived as a rookie. Although Harden did not start any of the games in his first season, it was clear that Harden and Durant could work together. Unfortunately for the fans, their partnership ended after just three years, when Harden was traded to the Houston Rockets.

The two met again in Brooklyn as the Nets brought in Kevin Durant and James Harden in 2020 and 2021, respectively. However, that did not end well. Nets could not form a formidable team, and despite having two of the biggest stars in the NBA, the project ended in failure. However, is the third time the charm? 2021 NBA champion Jeff Teague certainly thinks so.

“They need to trade for James Harden. They need to trade for James. Tell James you want him to play like he was in Brooklyn. Be the point guard. Defense, it don’t really matter because they struggle already. I mean, they are not a bad defensive team,” Teague said about the Houston Rockets.

Fans React to Jeff Teague’s Suggestion for Kevin Durant-James Harden Reunion at Houston Rockets

Most fans online did not like the idea of a KD and Harden team-up in Houston and shared their reactions.

“Harden and KD in Houston sounds like Area 51 every night IYKYK,” one fan joked.

“Naw we good we just need our pg back and we rolling,” one Rockets fan said.

“James harden is a non-winning basketball player. Plays absolutely no defense and stands still unless he has the ball in his hand,” one fan explained.

“This will not work because James Harden is the system,” one said.

“Harden is not winning player his step backs and flop style doesn’t win championships,” another claimed.

“Lol Durant is basically just another james harden if he hadn’t ran to curry after getting schooled to go win as a role player,” another commented.
