New York Knicks offensive star Jalen Brunson suffered a Grade 1 ankle sprain during a loss to the Orlando Magic on November 12. Brunson was seen leaving the arena in a walking boot and using crutches.
Notably, it was the same ankle he rolled earlier in 2025 against the Los Angeles Lakers. He missed a month for it. After his latest underwhelming showing, fans are concerned if the ankle issue is coming up again.
Fans are getting worried after Brunson put up another dismal showing on the court. After scoring 1-6 from the 3-point line in the game against the Toronto Raptors on Tuesday, against the Boston Celtics, his 3-point woes continued as he could only convert 1 out of 8 shots from beyond the arc while scoring 15 points to go along with 11 assists and two rebounds. It was one of the worst outings of Brunson’s career as he shot just 6-of-21 from the field and committed three turnovers.
The 123-117 defeat against the Celtics stings even more because of a promising start and stellar efforts from Mikal Bridges (35 points) and Karl‑Anthony Towns (29 points).
“Maybe the worst game of Brunson’s Knicks career… Didn’t have him being out-scored by Minot and Walsh on my bingo card lol,” Tommy Beer wrote.

“He was selfish and horrible defensively. So many times he got beat and didn’t even box out. Thats was beyond embarrassing, killed all momentum Bridges build with <4 min to go.
Hong Kongs Mongolian,” one fan commented.
“Forced alot and reverted to Thibs ball down the stretch instead of getting it to the hot hand,” one fan reacted.
“I’m all about fighting through an off night, but would have loved to see him go in facilitator mode (and not turn the ball over),” another fan wrote.
“Tomorrow he playing angry,” another predicted.
“3 FTs to boot. Come on,” another added.
“mikal is the only one that’s not and we continue to run the offense through brunson is mike brown retarded?” one fan blamed the Knicks coach.
Jalen Brunson’s Roller-Coaster Week: From Player-of-the-Week to Tough Loss Against Celtics
Jalen Brunson was named Eastern Conference Player of the Week for Week 6 of the 2025–26 season. He led the Knicks to a perfect 4-0 run. In those games, he averaged 28.8 points (48.3% from the field and about 40.7% from beyond the arc) and 4.5 assists per game.
This included a 37-point outburst in a win over the Milwaukee Bucks, helping the Knicks advance in the NBA Cup.
However, that momentum appeared to have hit a stall in the last couple of games and the Knicks fans will be hoping that their offensive edge gets back in form.
