Is Victor Wembanyama Playing Tonight Against Memphis Grizzlies? Latest Injury Update (Jan. 6)

The San Antonio Spurs take on the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday with a chance to have Victor Wembanyama back in the lineup after two games. The former No. 1 pick sustained a left knee bone bruise on Wednesday against the New York Knicks after he landed awkwardly and hyperextended his leg while grabbing a rebound.

It seemed like a long-term issue at first, but the MRIs returned clean, suggesting that Wembanyama had a bone bruise. Ahead of Tuesday’s visit to Memphis, the Spurs have listed him as questionable, giving Wembanyama a 50-50 chance of playing. He will likely be a game-time decision.

Victor Wembanyama played 5-on-5 in Monday’s practice, so he could be inching closer to his comeback.

It’s a massive relief for the Spurs as the superstar center has already dealt with several injuries. Before the knee issue, Wembanyama missed 12 games due to a calf strain. His season tally of missed games is up to 14.
