Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant is questionable to play against the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday night. Morant suffered a calf injury after Friday’s game against the LA Lakers. He missed the following contest, which was also against the Lakers on Sunday. Morant has a 50-50 chance to play, and his final status will likely be decided before tip-off.
The two-time All-Star has played in 18 games this season. Morant has dealt with a calf injury before and an ankle issue. The Grizzlies will hope his latest setback isn’t a long-term issue, given their recent results. Memphis has lost four consecutive games and breaking that streak against the 25-10 Spurs won’t be easy. The Grizzlies are already 0-2 against San Antonio.
Moreover, Victor Wembanyama is in contention to play after missing two games. The Grizzlies will need Ja Morant as they will be without Cedric Coward and Zach Edey. Meanwhile, Vince Williams Jr. is questionable.
It remains to be seen if Morant will be on a minute restriction. The Grizzlies will likely announce that before the game.
Ja Morant stats vs. San Antonio Spurs and Betting Tips
Ja Morant has averaged 27.7 points, 4.7 rebounds and 7.9 assists against the San Antonio Spurs. He’s shot 57.0% from the field, including 49.1% from 3-point range. Morant didn’t suit up when the Grizzlies and Spurs matched up earlier this season on Nov. 18 and Dec. 2. The Grizzlies lost both games.
For Tuesday’s contest, Morant is favored to score over 19.5 points, grab under 3.5 rebounds and record over 7.5 assists.
