Nikola Jokic is on his way to entering the list of the greatest players to have ever played in the NBA. He is well and truly making his case with every passing season and, in fact, every passing game. Jokic has been in the league for 11 years now.
When he was selected as the 11th pick in the second round and 41st overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, nobody rated Nikola Jokic to be as good as he is today. Jokic ended his first season in third place on the Rookie of the Year award list. He has averaged 22.1 points, 11 rebounds, and 7.4 assists in his career. He won the NBA title, along with the finals MVP in 2023. The 7x All-Star has won three MVP awards and may win another soon.
Nikola Jokic is averaging 29.6 points, 12.2 rebounds, and 11 assists in 32 games this season. Unfortunately, fans will have to wait to see him in action again. He has been diagnosed with a hyperextended left knee after leaving the court against the Miami Heat after playing 19 minutes this week.
Miami’s Bam Adebayo gave Nikola Jokic his flowers after the game, saying:
“I mean, it’s always fun playing against him. I mean, you see how he [Nikola Jokic] makes his teammates better. You see the greatness. But you know, the one thing I like about it, you know, it’s competition at the end of the day. You know, he’s one of those guys that doesn’t really flop.”
“And I truly respect that ’cause well, I’m not going to say flop, foul baiting. But it’s respect at the end of the day. You know, and then obviously you hate to see guys go out. But you got to figure out how you can keep your team, you know, foot on the gas and uh keep trying to get this W,” Bam said about Jokic’s injury.
