“He’s Got That Mamba Mentality”: Anthony Edwards Gets Compared With Kobe Bryant by Ex-NBA Pro

Anthony Edwards is in his 6th season now. When Edwards entered the league with the Minnesota Timberwolves picking him as their first draft pick in the 2020 NBA draft, he was one of the highest-rated players coming into the league. In his over 5 years of experience and over 400 games, he has certainly lived upto his hype.

He has earned 3 All-Star inclusions in the last 5 years. This season, Edwards has been outperforming his career average. In 22 games this season, Ant is averaging 28.3 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 3.9 assists. Not only talent, but Ant’s athleticism and passion are also the features of his game.

Many have compared Ant to Michael Jordan over the years. Ever since his debut in 2020, people have noticed similarities between MJ and Ant due to his playing style, flair, athleticism and to some extent attitude. Recently, ex-NBA star Chandler Parsons talked about Anthony Edwards and compared him with Lakers legend Kobe Bryant.

“This is who he is. And whether you like it or whether you don’t, this is, he’s an electric, aggressive, super athletic, fun player to watch. And I think he’s got that killer mentality. He’s got that Mamba mentality,” Parsons compared.

“And he’s one of the best two-way players in the NBA. and he’s got the athletic ability to to to play efficiently and really really good on both sides of the balls for for years for years to come. So, he’s a special player. He’s a special personality. For some reason, we kind of like to nitpick that with him because he’s he says a lot of outrageous stuff. He does some funny stuff, but he has that charisma. He’s got that star power and his game does a lot of the talking,” he continued.

Lou Williams Comments on Minnesota HC Chris Finch’s Ejection

56-year-old Chris Finch was ejected in the first 6 minutes of the game vs Oklahoma City Thunder. In the aftermath of that ejection, Finch absolutely lost it at the referees. The matter escalated, and he had to be held back by the rest of the coaching staff as he shouted and charged towards the referee. He is now set to pay a fine of $35,000.

Ex-NBA star Lou Williams voiced his opinion on the whole fiasco. He said, “This is premeditated. He came into this game with a chip on his shoulder, with a clear messaging that he wanted to get across. Because I’m looking at those two plays, those are two clean strips. Now, do they look fun? Are guys flailing? Absolutely.”

“But those two plays, Hernstein on the strip on Julius Randle and I want to say SGA. That was a clean that was a clean contest on Ant-Man. You know, this is six minutes into the game. That tells me this is premeditated. That tells me that you’re going into this game with messaging that you want to get across to the league,” he continued.
