The College Football Playoff field is set, and the Georgia Bulldogs are receiving the traction to win it all over defending champion Ohio State Buckeyes and No. 1 Indiana Hoosiers.
Ohio State and Indiana played each other in the final regular-season game, where the latter emerged a close 13-10 winner. Apart from this game, Ohio State won every game in the season and Indiana has remained unbeaten so far in 2025.
On the SEC Network, the panel consisting of Gene Chizik, Roman Harper and Chris Doering shared their predictions for the national championship and all three of them believe Kirby Smart’s Bulldogs have got what it takes to win it all.
Chizik picked Georgia to beat Indiana in the national championship game:
“Indiana-Georgia. That’s the game. And Georgia out-physicals them. They’ve been in these games before. It’s their championship DNA that takes over. Georgia, again, is playing the best football of the year. They’re ascending. And every week, they’ve incrementally gotten better. And they get a first-round bye.”
Harper also picked Georgia to beat Indiana to win the natty:
“Give me the Dawgs. I’ve got the Dawgs over Indiana. I think there’s something special about this Curt Cignetti team, the way they’ve played. They’ve just been the team that makes plays. It doesn’t know who it is. It’s not always fancy. It’s just that when you need the moment or the play, they have somebody who always steps up. So I like Indiana to get there. And I like Georgia to take it over.”
Meanwhile, Doering also picked Georgia to win it all, but his choice of opponent in the national championship game was surprising. He picked Oklahoma to be there:
“Well, we haven’t had an SEC team in the national championship game in two years now. There is some pent-up demand there. So not only are we going to get one team, we’re going to get two. Georgia is going to beat the Oklahoma Sooners. Oh, wow. I’m sorry to break the news. I don’t know if you’re happy about Oklahoma. If they got this far, you’re kidding me? I’m not bailing out.”

Georgia’s Potential Roadmap to National Championship Game
Since Georgia defeated Alabama to win the national championship game, it earned an automatic first-round bye under the 12-team playoff format.
They are slated to play in the CFP quarterfinal at the 2026 Allstate Sugar Bowl on January 1, 2026. Their opponent will be the winner of the first-round game between the Ole Miss Rebels and the Tulane Green Wave.
According to estimates, Georgia’s odds of making the national championship game are around 25.7%.
