RCR Driver Jesse Love Sparks “Daytona 500” Buzz With Cryptic ‘2026 News’ Post

NASCAR O’Reilly Series driver Jesse Love teased his fans on X, asking if they wanted some news for the 2026 season. One of the fans left a comment on the post that could lead to many believing that the Richard Childress Racing driver might have something to do with this year’s Daytona 500.

Jesse currently drives the No. 2 Chevrolet for Richard Childress Racing. He scored his maiden series win at Talladega in 2024. Most recently, he won the February 2025 race at Daytona International Speedway.

That being said, winning at Daytona isn’t the same as winning the Daytona 500. And if Love enters the 2026 Daytona 500 roster, it’s going to mark his first attempt at the famed crown jewel.

    Love wrote in his post:

    “Who wants some 2026 news?”

    Duv-ALL Sports Cards & Collectible’s on X commented:

“Daytona 500 attempt in 62 we already know brother.”

Jesse Love made two starts in the No. 62 last year and is inarguably one of the possible candidates for the 68th running of the Daytona 500, which is scheduled for Feb. 15. Fans can watch the race (2:30 pm ET onwards) on FOX, or listen to live radio updates on MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.

Jesse Love will return to Richard Childress Racing in 2026 as the wheelman of the team’s No. 2 entry. Love will be backed by Whelen Engineering as the anchor sponsor on the machine.

“Richard Childress Racing has been an excellent ambassador for Whelen Engineering over the years,” Peter Tiezzi, General Manager of Motorsports for Whelen Engineering, said in a statement. “We’re excited to extend our partnership and continue to impact the communities we serve through our race team partnership in 2026.”

Next up for Jesse Love is the United Rentals 300 at Daytona International Speedway. Scheduled for Feb. 14, the 120-lap event will be televised on CW with radio updates on MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.

“Everybody’s Wanting To Be Against It”- Jesse Love Singles Out NASCAR’s “Biggest Problem” in the NextGen Era

Jesse Love recently appeared on the “Door Bumper Clear” podcast and shared what he thought was the biggest problem in NASCAR right now. The RCR standout wants more people to appreciate the sport and stop hating on it.

Love thinks that NASCAR is doing great right now. Backing his argument, the 20-year-old driver said:

“I hate to see the state that it’s in because it seems like everybody’s wanting to be against it. I do think that’s our biggest problem is that it’s become so not trendy, but popular to be against,m NASCAR and be against everything that has to do with it. I think that’s the biggest problem.”

Taking a shot at F1, Love continued:

“I just got back from Australia, where all the people really enjoyed what they were doing where they were at. I watched the F1 race, which was probably the worst racing I watched all year as far as a product goes, and people seemed to love that.”

Jesse Love is the reigning NASCAR Xfinity Series champion, now known as the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series. In all, he has three career wins.
