“I Will Never Be Able To Replicate The Feeling”: Dale Earnhardt Jr. Pushes Back on an Emotional Moment After Wife Amy Admits Wedding Day Regret

Former NASCAR star driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. and his wife, Amy Earnhardt, celebrated nine years of marriage on Dec. 31, 2025. They shared a clip recalling their wedding night on the occasion.

Amy worked as an interior designer before meeting her better-half. They met when Dale Jr. hired her to renovate one of his estates in North Carolina in 2009. Soon, they started dating and tied the knot at Childress Vineyards in Lexington on Dec. 31, 2016. The couple has been blessed with two daughters, Isla Rose and Nicole Lorraine.

In the clip, Amy expressed regret about her decision not to meet Dale Earnhardt Jr. before their wedding ceremony. She added that all their wedding pictures turned out darker than expected. Dale Jr. then explained the reason behind not meeting Amy before the ceremony.

The former two-time Xfinity Series champion conveyed the message perfectly, along with a piece of advice for others. He stated:

“No matter what your wife says, I would advise against seeing her before the wedding, because if I had seen her an hour or two before, that moment might have been different. I would never be able to replicate the feeling I had when she turned the corner and faced me and started coming down that aisle, and that was awesome.”

“That’s so cool to have that feeling. And it’d be so genuine. I’m not sure it would have been the same. It was still been good, but not quite as perfect,” he added.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Amy further talked about attending back-to-back parties after their wedding. The former NASCAR driver claimed he “partied his a** off.” Following that, Amy suggested that hosting a New Year’s party on their 10th anniversary would be a “good idea.”
