The Kennesaw State Owls and the Western Michigan Broncos are heading to South Carolina for the Myrtle Beach Bowl in a battle between two conference champions who were not able to make it to the College Football Playoffs. Both teams have been dominant in their own conferences, but how will they fare against the other?

Myrtle Beach Bowl: Kennesaw State vs. Western Michigan Key Matchups
QB: Amari Odom vs. Broc Lowry
With both quarterbacks already having shown that they could lead their respective teams to a conference title, this one could be very interesting as Kennesaw State’s Amari Odom and Western Michigan’s Broc Lowry are both strong contenders.
However, Odom has been red hot in the last few games, showing he could throw touchdown passes, as well as play the rushing game well himself. Meanwhile, Western Michigan’s Lowry has struggled and has failed to throw a single touchdown pass during his last four games, though he does seem like he prefers the rushing game.
RB: Coleman Bennett vs. Jalen Buckley
Bennett had a big game during that conference-winning performance for the Owls, taking over with 82 yards and one touchdown on 17 attempts. Meanwhile, Buckley had a better performance for the Broncos, logging in 19 rushes for 193 yards and two touchdowns to take the MAC against Miami (OH). This one should be an interesting matchup, given that Western Michigan clearly likes the rushing game a lot more.
Myrtle Beach Bowl: Kennesaw State vs. Western Michigan Odds
Both teams are conference title holders and have more than proven that they could win. During this matchup, however, the Owls are considered the favorites, according to NCAAF, as they are a -3 favorite with a total of 47.5 and a moneyline of +140. Meanwhile, the Broncos, +3 underdogs, have a -165 moneyline with a total of 47.5.
Myrtle Beach Bowl: Kennesaw State vs. Western Michigan Predictions
Both teams have had championship runs, but in terms of overall depth and having a more consistent quarterback, this one should go to the Kennesaw State Owls. However, the game would be a lot closer than many people think, with the Broncos rushing game giving the Owls some problems.
