Farmer’s Mock Draft 2.0 Shows Teams’ Needs Beyond Quarterback.

Sam Farmer’s Mock 2.0 asks whether teams may pass on the passers, given that despite having Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders in the draft next month, the quarterback class is not deep. Nevertheless, the Tennessee Titans hold the number one pick and could be gaming for Ward.

Farmer’s Mock has Ward number one with Farmer saying, “First-year Titans general manager Mike Borgonzi was in Kansas City when Patrick Mahomes flipped the fortunes of that franchise. Can Ward be a difference maker?

Edge Rusher Abdul Carter goes No. 2 in Farmer’s mock to the Cleveland Browns, with the Penn State product lining up a one-two punch with Myles Garrett that would anchor the team’s defense for years. Carter had a 12-sack performance last season.

Travis Hunter, the two-way star from the Colorado Buffaloes, will help the New York Giants at No. 3 with his WR/CB play but will need a quarterback to get him the ball. Is Russell Wilson the guy to do so? Hunter had 92 receptions for 1,152 yards, 14 touchdowns, 32 tackles, and four interceptions in 2024.

Shedeur Sanders Goes to the Raiders at No. 6

The next quarterback taken is Sanders to the Las Vegas Raiders at No. 6 in Farmer’s Mock Draft. Two defenders were taken with the fourth and fifth selections.

The New England Patriots take Edge Jalon Walker at No. 4 while the Jacksonville Jaguars take Mason Graham, the Michigan Wolverines Defensive Tackle, at No. 5. Walker had 10 1/2 tackles for loss in 2024. He also tied for the team lead with six 1/2 sacks. He started 11 games and had 60 tackles with two pass breakups for the Georgia Bulldogs.

Graham’s 39 games at Michigan included 108 tackles (18 for loss), nine sacks, three passes defended, and one forced fumble.

Jaxson Dart goes No. 7 to the New York Jets, who need a quarterback. Last season, he had a 10-3 record, a Gator Bowl win, 10,617 yards, and 72 TDs passing.

Picks eight through 10 do not see another quarterback taken, with the Carolina Panthers shoring up the worst run defense in the NFL, taking defensive tackle Walter Nolen at eight. The Boise State running back, Ashton Jeanty, goes ninth to the New Orleans Saints.
