“Amount Of People Charlie Kirk Has Brought To The Lord”: Mississippi State Star’s Wife Celebrates Media Personality’s Impact with Heartfelt Note
The Charlie Kirk memorial has been held today as mourners prepared to say goodbye to controversial far-right podcaster Charlie Kirk. One of them is McKenzie Thompson, the wife of Mississippi State Bulldogs wide receiver Brenen Thompson. She wrote a heartfelt message to the late provocateur who was shot on a college campus in Utah.
“The amount of people Charlie has brought to the Lord… ‘Well done, good and faithful servant,'” she wrote in her Instagram caption.
Kirk, who was known for his controversial takes, was a celebrated figure in the Christian far-right but was widely criticized by the left. He co-founded Turning Point USA at 18, became a leading right-wing media figure, MAGA advocate, and influential Trump ally, before his assassination at 31.
He was laid to rest in Glendale, Arizona, which he called home. His wife, Erika Kirk, will be taking over Turning Point USA for him.
As for McKenzie, she and Brenan Thompson tied the knot on May 17, 2025. The ceremony was kept simple, with Brenan being photographed to be in tears after the ceremony.

Brenen Thompson Instrumental in Big Win Over Northern Illinois as Wife McKenzie Cheers Him On
McKenzie Thompson has always been supportive of her husband, Mississippi State Bulldogs WR Brenan Thompson, and she is a common sight during their games to cheer him on. She was also there when her husband was instrumental in that win over Northern Illinois, handing the Bulldogs a 4-0 start to their season.
On Saturday, the Bulldogs dominated Northern Illinois, 38-10, with this being the first time that Mississippi State has had a 4-0 start since 2014. One of the biggest plays happened in the first quarter when Thompson went on a 10-yard touchdown run through the Northern Illinois defense.
As for his wife, she wore the team colors, posed with the mascot and was carting around an icebox with her husband’s name and his jersey #0, enjoying the weekend’s game:
She is often present in the stands, often wearing the Mississippi State Bulldogs’ maroon and white colors and posing with fellow fans, cheering on her husband.
