When the Michigan sign-stealing scandal broke out, the school stood by Sherrone Moore and kept him as head coach even though he was caught up in that. However, the school is now distancing itself from him after his firing over an illicit scandal involving him having an affair with a staffer. This led to him getting arrested and then it was soon discovered that he was facing some mental health problems.
Now, University of Michigan president Domenico Grasso is personally calling him out.

A staff member spoke with People magazine, revealing that Grasso spoke about Moore in a letter addressed to students and staff, saying that his alleged relationship with a staff member was a “painful” breach of trust.
“When the findings of a university investigation into Coach Moore’s behavior were presented on Wednesday, we immediately terminated his employment,” Grasso said in a letter. “There is absolutely no tolerance for this conduct at the University of Michigan. None. I have been in close communication with the Board of Regents and we are united in committing to doing what is right.”
“This breach of trust by Coach Moore is painful for many in our community, first and foremost, the individuals directly involved in the situation.”
The school launched an investigation into Moore’s alleged relationship with a staffer and found sufficient evidence to fire him, with him losing his job on Wednesday. Moore was soon caught up in another controversy, as he allegedly assaulted an unnamed woman that he was reportedly stalking, leading to his arrest. This was when it was discovered that Moore had been dealing with some mental health issues as well.

Michigan Was Already Aware Sherrone Moore Was Already Dealing With Mental health Problems Prior To Firing
As Moore’s mental health problems surfaced, it was also revealed by NBC Sports’ Nicole Auerback that before Michigan fired him, they were informed that the coach had been dealing with mental health problems.
Michigan had been alerted prior to Wednesday that Sherrone Moore was dealing with mental health issues yet Warde Manuel fired him alone with no HR rep and no security present, source told @NBCSports.

Reports have also stated that Moore impregnated the staffer he had that “illicit relationship” with, and he also asked her to get an abortion. This is despite him being married with three children.
