The baseball game had more runs, 24, than the total points scored, 23, in the 2024 match between Michigan and Ohio State football game.
Michigan and Ohio State have been rivals since 1897, with their football teams taking center stage every November. Known as “The Game,” the annual football match featuring these two teams is a cultural event for both schools, often deciding Big Ten supremacy and even national championship hopes.
But the rivalry doesn’t stop at football. It extends to every other sport, and while the stakes might not be as high as football, the bragging rights are just as sweet.
Michigan-Ohio State Baseball Score Reignites Rivalry
On Saturday, Michigan’s baseball team put on an absolute clinic against Ohio State at Ray Fisher Stadium.
The Wolverines racked up 23 runs, including a jaw-dropping 16-run fourth inning, while holding the Buckeyes to just one run, the most significant margin of victory in the baseball series history between the two teams, according to Michigan Athletics.
What really got people talking, though, was the comparison to the 2024 football game. Last November 30, Michigan edged out Ohio State 13-10 in a nail-biter at Ohio Stadium, a game with 23 total points.
