Arch Manning’s 2025 college football season was full of ups and downs. While the whole college football world anticipated a Heisman-level performance from him even before the year started, he was able to stand his ground and trust the process throughout.
Manning faced immense pressure this year, since even before the kickoff game against Ohio State and for every other game as well; however, the Texas QB was able to control the outside noise and didn’t let it affect his morale, which eventually helped him find his rhythm and helped the Longhorns finish the season with a 9-3 record.
As the Longhorns didn’t make it to the Playoffs this year, they are gearing up to play against Michigan in the Cheez-It Bowl on December 31st.
Talking about Manning, Michigan’s interim head coach, Biff Poggi, said:
“Well, Arch Manning, first of all, the way he’s carried himself in a pretty intense spotlight is just amazing and a credit to his family, to Steve, the coaching staff,” Poggi said during the Citrus Bowl press conference. “He’s an unbelievable player. He’s everything they say he is. I think he’s an outstanding leader… I think the things he says and things he does shows his leadership, but as a player, I mean, he can do it all right. Can make all the throws. He’s intelligent. He can run. He’s a problem for defense, a real problem.”

Steve Sarkisian Draws Comparison Between Arch Manning and Bryce Underwood
Arch Manning and Bryce Underwood, who were among the most talked-about quarterbacks this year, are set to go against each other on Saturday.
Talking about the two star quarterbacks, Sarkisian said that it’s very hard to play football at this level in your freshman year, like Bryce has done in 2025.
While discussing Manning, who is in his third year, has also faced a lot of adversity, given his family background.
“For both quarterbacks, two of the more polarizing figures in today’s game when you think about the story of Arch. But yet, here’s Bryce in the world of NIL, and people are going to make stories out of stuff, whether true or not, rather than just focus on the young man.” said Sarkisian.
Michigan and Texas will be playing at the Camping World Stadium in Orlando.
